Hip Hop group A Tribe Called Quest will be honored with a new mural in Queens, NY!
It’s been almost three months since A Tribe Called Quest lost their long time band member Phife Dawg when he passed away. Now A Tribe Called Quest will be honored with a new mural on Linden Boulevard in Queens. The mural will be painted on the side of the Nu-Clear Cleaners which is where the group shot their infamous 1991 music video for Check The Rhime.
A few months back an online petition was started to rename the block of Linden Boulevard between 192nd to 193rd after the legendary hip hop group. A Tribe Called Quest made the block famous amongst people in the hip hop community so it would be a great way to honor the group. And while there’s no official date set for the name change of Linden Boulevard, NY councilman Daneek Miller told TMZ that the mural will be underway within a few weeks. The mural will be painted by the famous mural designer Vince Ballentine. Stay tuned to find out official dates once they’ve been announced.
