The excitement behind the release of this new surprise mixtape from FreeBandz head honcho, Future caused a delay in the release of the Purple Reign mixtape. Executive producers Dj Esco and Metro Boomin put their finishing touches on the project and the Purple Reign mixtape ended up being dropped early in the morning hours of Sunday instead of 11:56pm Saturday night as Future had originally posted on his Twitter page.
