Spotify names Kygo the top breakout artist of 2015
In 2014, we named Kygo as one of our “artists to watch” for the following year. Well 2015 has come and gone, and Kygo has proven his mettle as one of the most sought after, most successful, and most popular artists of the year. Spotify has announced that Kygo is their top breakout artist of 2015. It’s a fact that has been recognized by various sources, Your EDM included.
Kygo is neither the most streamed, nor does he even have the most viral track; a top breakout artist as defined by Spotify is “the first Spotlight artist to reach one billion streams,” on his tracks “Firestone” and “Stole The Show.”
Kygo said “2015 has been a crazy year for me, and Spotify have supported me right from the start. It’s an honour to be their Breakout Artist of the year, and I’m super excited to see what we can do together in 2016!”
