Since being released from prison – after spending six years there for a myriad of charges stemming from a shooting incident – in 2014, Remy Ma has been able to regain the success she’d been enjoying prior to her arrest. She’s released a mixtape and performed on a BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher, Reminisce Smith – alongside her husband Papoose – has signed up for and will appear in the sixth season of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop. And now the female emcee has dropped the Remy Ma Dj Absolut freestyle!
In much higher spirits than ever before Remy has channeled that newfound sense of life into her music, showing off the skills that made her one of the most promising new emcees when she debuted alongside the late Big Pun on his final studio album Yeeeah Baby. That lyrical venom has returned to DJ Absolut ongoing Mixtape Mondays drops, as she contributes an original song to the series’ sixteenth week.
