A couple of weeks ago, nineteen year old Baltimore singer/songwriter Sonne Riley was commissioned by ESPN to write a poem dedicated to Serena Williams for their website. The results were so inspiring that it simply had to be set to music and turned in to a song. With an amazing piano track courtesy of Brthdayx, Sonne’s poem morphed in to not just a tribute to Serena, but an ode to strong Black Queens everywhere and a metaphor for how he has dealt with the adversities in his own life.
