Country singer Thomas Rhett earns gold for Die A Happy Man record!
Thomas Rhett earns gold & may just die a happy man because his song “Die a Happy Man” has been certified gold by the RIAA.
“Die a Happy Man” has only been at radio for seven weeks, but it’s already sold more than 500,000 copies. The song is the second single from Rhett’s sophomore album, Tangled Up. It follows “Crash and Burn,” which has been certified platinum.
The singer-songwriter penned “Die a Happy Man” for his wife Lauren, after she requested a song like Tim McGraw‘s “Just to See You Smile.”
“Obviously, this isn’t exactly like that, but it’s my interpretation. It’s 100-percent autobiographical of our relationship in a three-and-a-half-minute ballad,” Rhett explains in a statement. “It’s probably my favorite song I’ve ever written, and it will be amazing to show our grandkids the video one day.”
With this type of success, Rhett has definitely earned the chance to “see the Northern lights” and “the Eiffel Tower at night” — with his lady by his side, of course!
The singer is currently out on the road with Brett Eldredge, co-headlining 2015 CMT on Tour, which has been nicknamed the “Suits and Boots Tour.” More information about Rhett and details about his upcoming tour stops can be found on his website.
